Karl F. Kollus,88 Poland- Karl F. Kollus, 88, died Wednesday morning at Shepherd of the Valley, Warren. Mr. Kollus was born in Monesson, Pennsylvania, a son of Edmund and Rose Szabo Kollus. He came to Youngstown as a child, and later resided at 6900 Blue Ridge Drive in Poland when he got married. He was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School. He retired from Youngstown Sheet and Tube (LTV) and Lykes Steel after 34 years as a roll turner. He was a WWII veteran for 4 years. Mr. Kollus was a charter member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Poland, where he served on council ,Sunday School secretary and was head usher. He enjoyed spending the winter in Florida with his wife Hazel. He leaves his wife, the former Hazel Baun, whom he married August 2, 1958; one sister, Margaret Ellis of Rockville, MD; and four nieces and nephews; Louise Ellis of Rockville, MD, Rita Sloan of Arizona, Tom Kollus of Arizona, and Elisa Williams of Warren. A brother Louis preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Monday 11AM at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Friends may call Sunday from4-7PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and Monday 10:00-10:45 AM at the church. Memorial tributes may be given to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
