Justine "Tina" Hruby

Struthers - Justine "Tina" Hruby, 88, of Sunrise Assisted Living, formerly of 388 W. Omar Street Struthers, died Sunday, September 28, 2008. Mrs. Hruby was born Saturday, October 4, 1919 in Struthers, a daughter of Andrew & Christina Mihaliszko Latura. She was a life long area resident. She was a 1937 graduate of Struthers High School. She was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Tina enjoyed volunteering at the church, helping with its festival, bingo, and also at the school. She enjoyed golfing and playing cards. Her husband, Michael Hruby, whom she married June 16, 1952, died March 11, 1989. Mrs. Hruby is survived by two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Latura of Poland and Olga Latura of Struthers; one brother-in-law, Cyril Hruby of North Lima; her niece and caregiver, Norma (Ben) Bruno of Struthers; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Suzanne Jones and Mary Zablocki; and three brothers, Pete Latura, George Latura, and Steve Latura. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 3, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Lowellville. Friends will be received Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, where prayer services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Hruby's family would like to thank to the staff of Sunrise Assisted Living, Southern Care Hospice and especially Dr. Scott Tofil for their love and great care given to Justine.
