YOUNGSTOWN - Private services were held Monday for June L. Wagner, 90, who passed away Thursday evening at Hospice House.
Mrs. Wagner was born Nov. 11, 1920, in Youngstown, a daughter of Harvey and Maude Newkirk Barger.
She graduated from South High School in 1937 and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and its Bible Study class.
June was an avid quilter, sewer and knitter and played cards with her sisters. She loved being a mother and grandmother.
She husband, Samuel Wagner, whom she married Nov. 29, 1942, died May 29, 2001.
Surviving her are her children, Thomas Wagner of Cornersburg, Diane Loree of Boardman, Gary (Alyce) of New Middletown and Jeffrey Wagner of Boardman; four grandchildren, Jerry Ludt, Aimee (Carmen) DeLuica, Chrissy (Joe) Frigone and Loren (Matt) Palermo; and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband, are a daughter, Barbara Sue Wagner; two brothers, Ray and Bill Barger; and four sisters, Viola Miller, Pearl Herr, Isabelle Johnson and Beverly Ress.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44512.
Arrangements are being handled by the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman.
