Poland - June E. Pennell, 81, of Poland, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center Emergency Room. June was born June 8, 1926 in Cleveland, a daughter of Frank and Nellie McClintock Gallaugher. She attended South High School and was a homemaker. She worked at Isaly's as a young teen and later at Shinner's Meat Market. She was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church. June also was a member of the St. Nicholas Senior Citizens, the VFW Post No. 3538 Ladies Auxiliary, and the 4:30 Club. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, gardening, and taking her gambling trips. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family. Her husband, Ray Pennell, whom she married September 29, 1942, died June 4, 2001. June leaves her two daughters, Sandra Beckwith and Shannon (Ray) Boila, both of Poland; two sisters, Darlene (Bob) Rushwin of Youngstown and Joy Singer of Ocala, Florida; two granddaughters, Kerrie (Scott) Wilson of Austintown and Heidi (Jason) Smith of Poland; one grandson, Raymond (Jackie) Boila of Struthers; four great-grandsons, Jacob and Tyler Smith, Benjamin Wilson, and Vincent Boila; special family members, Rick and Diane Pennell; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Fiucci and Betty Rosser; three brothers, Owen, Richard and Walter Gallaugher; and a son-in-law, David Beckwith. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Poland United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Park Cemetery. Family and friends will be received Friday 5-8 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
