June M. Pendleberry

July 27, 1919 — December 9, 2016

POLAND – June M. Pendleberry, 97, died Friday morning, Dec. 9, 2016, at Woodlands Assisted Living.

June was born July 27, 1919, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John and Daisy Murdoch.

Raised in Boardman, she was a graduate of Boardman High School.

She married Wilson R. Price in 1941, and they relocated to Port Clinton, while he was serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his discharge, they returned to Poland, where they built their home on Cover Drive and raised their daughter, Jennifer. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1961.

June worked in the Bursar’s office for many years at Youngstown College, which later became Youngstown State University. While working at the university, she met Dwight Pendleberry and they were married on April 12, 1969. They made their home in Cortland for many years before relocating to Fredericksburg, Texas in 1982.
Dwight preceded her in death in 2001 and shortly after his death June moved back to this area to be close to family.

In her free time, June enjoyed quilting, gardening, and reading, especially on her Kindle.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer A. (Curtis) Pratt of Poland; two grandchildren, Judson Pratt of Los Angeles, and Scott (Crystal) Pratt of Cincinnati; two great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Samantha Pratt; and her dear friend, Diane Poindexter of Youngstown.

In addition to her parents and husbands, June was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Murdoch; and two sisters, Jane Menning and Mary Helen Murdoch.

Per June’s request, there will be no calling hours or services.
Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman.

Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in June’s name to Woodlands Assisted Living Activities Department, 1525 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, OH 44514.
