Services will be held Saturday, 11:00am at Christian Assembly Church, Boardman for Julia Romito, 95 formerly of Boardman. She passed away March 5, 2011 in California.
Mrs. Romito was born Aug. 13, 1915 in McKeesport, PA, a daughter of Anthony and Julia Pryor Bucci. During WWII, she had worked for General Extrusions and Republic Steel.
Julia was a member of VFW Post 93 and the VFW 3287 both in Youngstown and had enjoyed bowling, bingo and playing cards.
Her husband James Romito died Sept. 6, 1996.
Surviving her are two daughters, Donna Banas of Las Vegas and Carol Julian of Valencia, CA, a half sister Pauline Such of Campbell and a sister in law Nancy Bucci of Youngstown. Seven grandchildren, Joy (Doug) Spitznagel of GA, Wendy (Kevin) Spitznagel of IN, Sonny (Kelley) Julian of CO, Denise Coulter of Austintown, Dianna (Gary) Cecchini of Canfield, Anthony (Judy) Pastella of Pittsburgh and Nicholas (Kim Anthony) Pastella of AZ. Also twenty two great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In 2003, with the birth of Julia's first great great granddaughter, she celebrated 5 generations of women in the family.
Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents are four brothers, five sisters and a grandchild.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9pm at Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman and on Saturday from 10-10:50 am at the church.
