Judy McCrone

Youngstown - Judy McCrone, 79, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Hospice of the Valley's Hospice House, with her family by her side after being diagnosed with a brain tumor in late July. She was born February 28, 1937 in Boardman, daughter of the late Earl and Edith Miles McCreary.

She attended Boardman High School and loved vacationing in New Smyrna Beach, FL with her family and friends. Judy was a member of Poland United Methodist Church, the Jewish Community Center, Senior Circle, the Supper Club and the Saturday Night Card Club with her dear friends. Judy was the original Martha Stewart and was known for her ability to create floral centerpieces and decorated over one dozen Christmas trees in her home during the holidays every year. She was affectionately called "Granny" by her grandchildren, as well as many others. She was the type of person who would open her home to anyone she knew. Judy raised more children than just her own and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves her children, Chuck McCrone of Dallas, TX, Christine (Greg) O'Neal of Canfield, Kurt McCrone of Youngstown, Kimberly (Scott) Wickert of Medina, and Judiann (Jim) Romeo of Struthers; grandchildren, Chad (Cristin) McCrone of FL, Jillian (George) Hoffman of Boardman, Jake and Delaney Wickert of Medina, Jascelynn and Jack Romeo of Struthers; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Jessen; and her brother, Bud (Judy) McCreary of Columbus.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry O. McCrone.

Funeral Services will be Thursday at 11am at Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Rd. Poland, OH 44514 with Pastor Michael Grant, Pastor Susan Holly and Pastor Dan Yargo officiating.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 4-7pm at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St. Poland and prior to the service from 10-10:45am on Thursday at the church.

The family requests donations be made to the Henry and Judy McCrone Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Poland United Methodist Church, or to Hospice of the Valley, 9803 Sharrott Rd. Poland, OH 44514.
