Judy Swantner-Dasen, 59, whose life was joyfully spent in Struthers, fought her last fight on August 2nd, at 5:12 pm at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, surrounded by her family who never once doubted her.
Judy was born in Youngstown to Don and Sally Stevens on October 15th , the loveliest day in 1958. She met the first love of her life, Rick Swantner, not very long after, and the years they spent together were wild to say the least, both of them running the gamut of life together. Judy carried on after his passing, because she was strong, and met the second love of her life in 2008, Dave Dasen, who she joyfully spent the last decade of her life with. Judy's accomplishments are too many to recount here, because every life she entered, she changed and bettered. She was a singular soul. Words will forever fail to do her the justice she deserves.
Judy is survived by her husband, David Dasen, whom she was very hard on but loved dearly, her brother Mitch, whom she was also very hard on but loved just as fiercely, her older brothers Don and Dean, her four children, Mellissa, Lisa, Jessica, and Rick, as well as her grandchildren, Brittany, Nathan, Richard and Denver, her sons-in-law, Will, Larry, and Ace, and more friends and family than can possibly be named. We were lucky enough to be the light of her world, she ours, and she raised us with a love so strong it will never be rivaled. We were all lucky beyond words to have her as the fulcrum of our lives, the very core of the heart she taught us each to live with.
Visitation will be held at Davidson Becker Funeral Home from 4-7pm on Monday, August 6th, and a service will be held on Tuesday, August 7th beginning at 11 am at the funeral home. The family understands how much Judy meant to everyone, and if you knew her, you know where to bring anything you wish to bring for her or the family, and we greatly appreciate the support and love Judy received every day of her beautiful life.
Mom, you will always be remembered. If there is anything decent about any of us, it is because of you, and we will carry that with us forever.
