Struthers- Judith Anne Sakely, 76, formerly of Poland, died Friday morning, July 1, 2016 at her home.
Judith was born October 21, 1939 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Bryce and Frances Parker Hoffmaster.
She was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School. In her younger years, she worked as a waitress for The Marc, Brown Derby, and Star Light. Judith loved to sew and make crafts, selling many of her creations over the years at local craft shows.
Judith was a member of the Poland Presbyterian Church, the Samaritans Group, Mariners, the Up Beats of Emanuel Lutheran Church of the Northside, and numerous card clubs.
Some of her favorite pastimes were watching sports, particularly the Cleveland Indians, bowling in her younger years, and telling a good joke.
Her husband, Elmer J. Sakely, whom she married July 9, 1964, died February 6, 2009. She is survived by four daughters, Karen (Dave Kiddy) Steiner of Struthers, Kelly Cornwell of Sarasota , FL, Kristine Branner of Struthers, and Kathleen Drummonds of Toledo; three sons, Kevin Sakely of Struthers, Kenneth Sakely of Struthers, and Kirk (Diane M. Lafavor) Sakely of Youngstown; fifteen grandchildren, Eric Cornwell, Todd (Holly) Steiner, Frankie Left, Annie Cornwell, Mike (Kylee) Cornwell, Reginald Lee, Joey Burns, Stephon Sakely, Kody Sakely, Katilyn Sakely, Caden Sakely, Corey Walker, Emily Drummonds, Morgan Drummonds, and Hannah Labranche; ten great-grandchildren, Zachary, Kalyssa, Marleigh, Vance, Brody, Christopher, Aiden, Beau "Little Peanut," Mason, and Lilly; two sisters, Lynette (Harry) Clay of Canfield and Suellen Baker of Cornersburg; and a brother, Skip Hoffmaster of North Carolina.
In addition to her parents and husband, Judith was preceded in death by her grandson, Craig Cornwell; son-in-law, Timothy Branner; and an infant sister.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland, where family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 5-6:45 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be in Poland Riverside Cemetery.
