Struthers - Judith Lee Fire, 66, of Struthers, died early Friday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center of complications due to ALS.
Judy was born February 26, 1945 in Youngstown, a daughter of Harry and Josephine D'Amico Allen. As an infant, Judy's family moved to California returning to Struthers 12 years later.
Judy was a 1964 graduate of Struthers High School and at one time worked at General Electric.
Judy was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church and the Democratic Women's Club. Judy loved to dance. She and her husband Tony met while at a dance at the Holiday Bowl in Struthers. The two of them loved dancing to the 60's and 70's at Kuzman's, the former Limelighter Lounge and the Moonraker. They would follow all their favorite bands including Phil Dirt and the Dozers and Red Line. Judy also enjoyed spending time planting flowers in her garden, swimming, and going for long car trips. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, attending sporting events and taking her granddaughter to get her nails done.
Besides her husband, Anthony Carl, whom she married, April 16, 1966, Judy leaves one daughter, Shawn Marie Fire of Poland; one son, Anthony Shane (Julie) Fire of Poland; and four grandchildren, Anthony Carl, Thomas Richard, Maria Rose, Christopher Allen Fire.
Besides her mother, Judy was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Sotlar.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 AM at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Fr. Bernard Bonnot officiating. Interment will follow at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Lowellville.
Friends will be received Monday, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
