Joyce Irene Garvey

Struthers - Joyce Irene Garvey, 71, died September 19, 2018 at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House. Joyce was born June 26, 1947 in Youngstown, daughter of David Goist and Betty Zetts.

She was a graduate of South High School and went on to attend cosmetology school. In her early years Joyce was a beautician. She later worked at Nemenz and Giant Eagle. Some of her passions were art, painting, knitting, gardening, and her dogs.

Joyce and her husband Ronald lived in Oak Hill, Florida for 25 years, before moving back to the area in 1994.

She is survived by her mother, Betty Zetts of Boardman; her husband, Ronald Garvey of Struthers, whom she married June 26, 1979; one daughter, Holly (Geary) Macovitz of Struthers; one son, David Garvey of Cole Twp,, PA; one grandson, Owen Macovitz; two sisters, Darlene (Eugene) Yavorcik of Youngstown and Linda (Robert) Fossessco of Boardman.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Milton Goist; and one sister, Patricia Latisi.

There will be no services or calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
