Joy A. Jones
BOARDMAN - Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman for Joy Jones. She passed away Saturday afternoon at her home.
Mrs. Jones was born Oct. 18, 1925, in Rimersburg, Pa., a daughter of Ray and Joy Mortimer Fowler.
She was a 1944 graduate of South High School and a homemaker. Joy was a member of the Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where she and a group of ladies made blankets for Hospice House and Akron Children¹s Hospital. She also helped with the costumes at Ballet Western Reserve.
Her husband, Walter A. Jones, whom she married May 13, 1944, died April 16, 2001.
Surviving her are her children, Doreen Justice of Detroit, Thomas R. (JoAnn) Jones of Chesterland, Linda Terrell of Girard, Kenneth of Baytown, Texas, and David C. Jones of Boardman; a sister, Marion Crosbie of Boardman; and 13 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents was a brother, William Fowler and a grandson.
Friends may call Tuesday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
