Joshua Lopez, 18 Struthers- Joshua Lopez, 18, of 43 John Street, died at his residence Wednesday. Joshua was born April 23, 1988 in Palm Springs, California, a son of Francisco Javier Lopez and Traci Camaret. He lived in Palm Springs until coming to Struthers in 1997. A 2006 graduate of Struthers High School, Joshua also graduated from Mahoning County Career Technical Center with a 2 year certificate in Power Mechanics and was the recipient of the Highest Achievement Award in Science. He was presently employed by Ace Roofing. Joshua was active in sports, playing football for the Little Wildcats, and as a freshman and junior in high school. He also played baseball, basketball, soccer, and hockey. A professional BMX Racer, Joshua was a member of the American Bicycle Association, American Motor Cross Association and received several trophies. He was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed by his father Francisco and stepmother Renee of La Mesa, Calif.; mother, Traci Camaret and dear friend, David Brown of Struthers; sisters, Briana and Alyssa Camaret at home; brother, Erik Metzler of La Mesa, Calif.; maternal grandparents, Bill and Dolly Stover of Struthers; nephew of William and Christine Stover, great nephew of Linda and John Morell of Struthers, Bernard and Nell Conway of Boardman, Richard Benedict of Struthers and Jerry Hardin of Florida; paternal grandparents, Frank and Hilda Lopez of Indio, Calif.; nephew of Michael and Faith Lopez, Gabriel and Tia Lopez, and Abraham and Elizabeth Lopez all of Indio, Calif. Joshua was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Rhea and Ethel Palmer, and one great-aunt, Shirley Benedict. Friends may call Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 1:45 PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM.
