Josephine Rossi

LOWELLVILLE - Josephine Rossi, age 97, died Friday, January 11, 2008 at the Greenbriar. Mrs. Rossi was born July 1, 1910 in Hillsville, PA, a daughter of Joseph and Marian Tutino Salerno. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville, where she belonged to its Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Mt. Carmel Ladies Lodge and the Lowellville VFW Auxiliary Post No. 247. She loved baking, cooking, crocheting and especially shopping. Her husband, Joseph H. Rossi, whom she married November 25, 1926, preceded her in death on June 10, 1936. She is survived by two daughters, Marian (Frank) Trimble of Struthers and Ange (Tom) Cearfoss of Austintown; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Anthony J. Rossi and Joseph J. Rossi; two sisters, Theresa Polis and Nellie Garreffa; and an infant brother. The family would like to thank Dr. James Demidovich and the staff of the Greenbriar for the wonderful care given to her. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
