New Castle - Josephine Donatelli, 89, of the Jameson Care Center, passed away Friday evening in Jameson Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Donatelli was born May 4, 1922 in Hillsville, PA, a daughter of John and Pasqualina Fusco Sandora and was a life long member of the area.
She was a graduate of Hillsville High School. A homemaker for most of her life, Josephine loved spending time with her family, gardening, playing cards and board games. She loved to cook and when her children and neighborhood children were small they would gather at her house for homemade bread, wedding soup, pastas, pizza, and sticky buns. This also carried over for her grandchildren who she dearly cherished. Josephine was a member of Christ the King Parish of St. Lawrence Church.
Josephine's husband, Orlando (Lefty) Donatelli, whom she married Thanksgiving Day in 1948 died March 7, 2004. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, John (Sharon) Donatelli of Toledo; daughter, Cecilia Nichols of Lowellville; sisters, Concetta McGinnis of Lowellville and Clara Sandora of New Castle, Pa; four grandchildren, William Nichols, Stephen Nichols and Ragina (Chad) Johnson and John (fiancee, Sarah) Donatelli.
Besides her parents and husband, Josephine was preceded in death by her sister, Theresa Logozzo; four brothers, Samuel, Peter, Andrew and Angelo Sandora; and a son-in-law, Laurence M. Nichols.
Services will be held Monday 10 am. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville with Father John Jerek officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Lowellville.
Friends will be received Sunday from 5 to 8 pm at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville, Ohio.
