Joseph Zavatsky

Joseph Zavatsky, 81 Poland- Joseph Zavatsky died early Thursday morning at Select Specialty Hospital Mr. Zavatsky was born in Barton, Ohio April 13, 1922, a son of George and Tekla Kovalcik Zavatsky. He came to the area in 1927. He was a 1942 graduate of Scienceville High School. He was a Sales Representative at Ross Radio, retiring in 1971. He was a member of the Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine CatholicChurch, where he was involved in the Byzantine Pairs and was an usher. He leaves his wife, the former Nina Tirimacco, whom he married August 22, 1959; one sister, Rose Sevachko of Canfield; two brothers, Ernest( Sophia) Zavatsky of Struthers and Brother Mark Zavatsky OSB of Butler,PA. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Anna Noteboom, Martha Hallas, Mary Grena, and Irene Macabobby; and one brother, George Zavatsky. Funeral services will be Tuesday 9:45 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and 10:30 AM at the Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 at the funeral home, where there will be a Parastas Memorial Service at 7:30 PM.
