Boardman - Joseph Victor Moran, Jr., 74, of Boardman, died Thursday, August 9, 2007 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mr. Moran, Jr. was born Tuesday, November 1, 1932 in Struthers, Ohio, a son of Joseph Sr.,and Victoria Guzzo Moran. He lived in Struthers until moving to Boardmam in 1962. He was a 1951 graduate of Struthers High School and was a carpenter. He worked for various contractors before establishing his own company, Ack- Mor Construction Company. In the later years he was self-employed. He was a member of Western Star Lodge No. 21 and Carpenters Union 171. Mr. Moran was an avid fisherman and was a member of the New Middletown Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers. He was a former coach for his two sons' L ittle League Baseball in Boardman and assisted with his sons' boy scout troop. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandson, attending his baseball practices and games. Mr. Moran was a United States Army Corporal, serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Besides his wife the former Joanne Slaven whom he married August 20, 1955, he leaves one daughter, April Lynn Moran of Boardman; two sons, Eric J. Moran and Mark J. Moran both of Boardman; one sister, Catherine (Anthony) Pizzulo of Girard; two brothers, John (Terry) Moran of Espyville, PA, and Frank (Celesta) Moran of Austintown; one grandson, Mark R. Planey Jr. of Boardman; many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Monday, 11:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Rev. Alex Hilliard officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, Canfield. Friends will be received Sunday from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
