John Washinka, 85 Austintown- John Washinka, 85, formerly of Poland, died Wednesday evening at Austinwoods Nursing Home. Mr. Washinka was born in Cleveland April 22, 1919, a son of Wasil and Katherine Lashok Washinka . His parents migrated from Vilna, Russia in the early 1900âa�a��s.. He moved to Youngstown in 1935 and in 1947 he resided in Poland. He was a machinist at Youngstown Sheet and Tube (LTV) for 38 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Evangel Baptist Church and was involved in the Youngstown Sheet and Tube golf and bowling leagues. He leaves two sisters, Anna Kelley, whom he made his home with; and Helen Andrusky; one niece Katherine Wayne; and four nephews, Marty Andrusky, John Andrusky, Duane Andrusky, and Dan Nagy. He was preceded in death by one sister, Sophie Nagy. Funeral services will be Saturday 11AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Friends may call one hour prior at the funeral home.
