North Lima - John J. Toriello, 95, died early Saturday morning at his residence at Glenellen. Mr. Toriello was born April 15, 1912 in Brockway, Pennsylvania, a son of Emilio and Diamante DiMucci Toriello. A 1930 graduate of Struthers High School, Mr. Toriello owned and operated a grocery store in Struthers with his family. He was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both in Struthers. His wife, the former Victoria Bero, whom he married in 1936, died September 25, 1995. He leaves two sons, Emil (Jean) Toriello of Springfield and Richard (Lucy) Toriello of Lancaster, PA; one daughter, Kathleen (David) Welton of Yadkinville, NC; a sister, Vera (Leonard) Schiavone of Boardman; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Toriello was preceded in death by his son, Stephen, three sisters, and three brothers. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers and 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown. Friends will be received Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Mr. Toriello's name to St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, 764 Fifth Street, Struthers, Ohio 44471.
