John W. Stiles - - 84 CANFIELD âa�" John W. Stiles, 84 of 324 Neff Dr., died Monday evening at Forum Health Northside Medical Center, following a long illness. Mr. Stiles was born in McCaysville, GA, April 30, 1922 a son of Jake and Augusta Rogers Stiles. Mr. Stiles graduated from Struthers High School in 1940. A Second Lieutenant in WWII he served as a fighter pilot in the Army Air Corps, flying P47, P51, C46, and C47 aircraft. He worked for the Youngstown Sheet and Tube for over 34 years as a machinist before its closing in 1979. He also drove a school bus for the Boardman School District more than 32 years, where he retired in 1996 at the age of 74. He attended of the Boardman Baptist Church. His wife of 50 years, the former Fannie C. Bondar whom he married June 30, 1951 died August 20, 2001. He is survived by three daughters, Suellen (Alan) DeMattia of Novelty, Cynthia (Glen) Flanagan of Canfield, Sandra Dixon of Baltimore MD, one brother Ed Stiles of Poland, one sister, Virginia Anderson of Murphy NC, and 13 grandchildren. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Inez McLain. Family and friends may call Friday from 5-8 at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers, where funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 âa�" 10:45 am.
