John "Mike" Roberts

John âa�A"Mikeâa�A� Roberts, 71 Youngstown - John âa�A"Mikeâa�A� Roberts, age 71, of Youngstown died Monday at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Roberts was born October 20, 1934 in Colwyn Bay, North Wales, UK, as son of Anadlys and Mary Olive Kitchen Roberts. He was raised in Colwyn Bay, North Wales, UK, and moved to Youngstown in 1958 where he was employed by Loblaws and Thorofare as a warehouseman and retired in 2000 after 42 years. He also worked for PPG as a delivery man. He was a graduate of Colwyn Bay County School in North Wales. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Youngstown and of the St. David Society. He served in the British Army, enjoyed music and playing the trumpet and he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Roberts leaves his wife, the former Connie Santoro, whom he married October 29, 1960. He is survived by three daughters, Diane Roberts of Youngstown, Christine (Chuck) Rotz of Poland, Sandy (Paul) Bindas of Canfield; four sisters, Leila Hanni of Boardman, Sylvia Yarwood of St. Annâa�a��s, England, Olga Tree of Colwyn Bay, North Wales and Monica Dennis of Liberty Township; three grandchildren, Chas Rotz, Christopher Rotz and Paul Michael Bindas; and one brother-in-law, Atty. Don L. Hanni. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 âa�" 8 at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Services will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart Church in Youngstown at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
