John Robert "Whitey" Reves, 90 of Struthers, died March 26, 2016 in the comfort of his home. He was born March 12, 1926 in Youngstown, son of the late John and Mary Yuhas Reves.
He was a 1944 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and was employed with Aeroquip Corporation Republic Rubber Division for 44 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Christ our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the First Catholic Slovak Lodge and the YMCA. Whitey enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and in his younger years enjoyed golfing. He loved taking care of his yard and was very proud of how it looked. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan and was extremely proud of his children and loved them deeply.
He leaves his daughter, Donna Lynn Reves of Struthers and his son, David Reves of Mount Laurel, NJ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Marie Jankovich Reves on June 3, 2009 whom he married on May 10, 1952; his brothers, Michael, Edward and Robert Reves and his sister, Mary Zaluski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 1:30pm at Christ our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Catholic Church of Struthers, with the Rev. Fr. Bernard Bonnot as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to mass from 12:30-1:15pm on Tuesday at the church.
