New Middletown - John C. Pellice, Jr., 31, of New Middletown, died September 3, 2009 at Forum Health Northside Medical Center from liver cancer.
John was born September 25, 1977 in Youngstown, the son of John and Mariann Bokros Pellice, Sr. He was raised in Struthers and moved to New Middletown a year ago.
He was a 1996 graduate of Struthers High School. John worked in construction for Newton Square Construction now called Preferred Communities and alongside his father at Double JJ Construction.
John's hobbies included golfing, fishing, camping, going to car shows, and rooting the Pittsburgh Steelers on. He was a member of Holy Family Church in Poland.
Besides his parents of Struthers, he leaves his wife, the former Kelly Hird, whom he married October 12, 2002; daughter, Kaitlyn Pellice at home; his son or daughter who is expected in 2 weeks; sister, Angela Pellice of Struthers; maternal grandparents, Ed and Carmella Bokros of Struthers; and mother-in-law, Valarie McGahan of Struthers.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Anthony H. and Mary Theresa Pellice.
Services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral in Poland and 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
