John Edgar Mundy, age 91, of Poland, died on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Culberson, NC to the late, Ed and Elizabeth Mundy and retired from Youngstown Sheet and Tube/LTV Steel following 30 years of employment as a steel worker.
He enjoyed fishing and dancing with his longtime companion, Betty Carpenter as well as restoring cars and was a member of the Masons.
John proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Mundy on January 10, 1999; his daughter, Patricia Ann Hudak on July 6, 2011.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Gloria (John Campana) Mundy of Boardman; granddaughters, Tamara (Dale) Jablonski of Twinsburg, Andrea Lee Ruehle of Poland and Amanda Hudak of Poland; and great grandchildren, David, Noah, Lauren and Lilly.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, Sheila Hovey and Ellen Watson, as well as Laaren Whitcomb and Samantha Nelson of the Senior Independent Hospice Program.
Any memorial contributions may be made to the family. In honoring his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
