John J. Lucansky, 75
STRUTHERS - John J. Lucansky, 75, died Friday morning at his residence.
John was born March 27, 1936, in Struthers, a son of Michael and Mildred Drost Lucansky.
He was a 1955 graduate of Struthers High School and attended Youngstown State University.
John worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube, which later became LTV and J& L Steel for 30 years. He went on to work as a custodian for Struthers High School for 17 years and for the past eight years was a Ranger at Mill Creek Golf Course.
John was a member of Christ Our Savior at St. Nicholas. He loved bowling, golfing, collecting boats, and spending time with his grandson, Alex.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961.
John leaves behind, his wife, the former Joan "Joanne" Kaminski of Struthers, whom he married Oct. 4, 1958; a son, John (Lisa Kralj) Lucansky of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Jennifer Lucansky of Struthers; a beloved grandson, Alex Lucansky of Jacksonville; beloved niece and nephew Dawn and Dave Burich, both of Struthers; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Snyder.
A prayer service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
