John R. Kridler, 72 Poland- John R. Kridler, 72, of 5710 Youngstown-Poland Rd., died Tuesday evening at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mr. Kridler was born August 7, 1931 in Youngstown, a son of Frederick and Elizabeth Zedaker Kridler. He was a life-long area resident. He was a 1949 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and went on to graduate from the Merchant Marines Academy in Kings Point, Long Island, New York. He was a stationary engineer for Cleveland Cliffs, Republic Steel and retired from LTV after 30 years of service. He was an avid collector of antiques specializing in steam engines and tobacco accessories. Besides his mother of Bonita Springs, Florida he leaves his wife the former Jean McFarlin whom he married March 5, 1955; two sons, Kurt (Connie) Kridler of Leetonia and Karl (Tari) Kridler of North Lima; two brothers, Douglas Kridler of Naples, Florida and Richard Kridler of Hamburg, Michigan and four grandchildren, Tommy, Jeanne, Marnie and Richard Kridler. Private memorial services will be held Friday at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland. Memorial Tributes may go to Hospice of the Valley or Angels for Animals.
