John A. "Buddy" Hull Jr.

Boardman - John A. "Buddy" Hull, 77 of Boardman, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, September 13, 2017 at his daughter's residence surrounded by his family.

John was born June 22, 1940 in Youngstown, a son of Jack Hull and Dora Shugars.

Raised in Youngstown, John attended East High School. He was an Iron Worker and later Cement Finisher for Local 179. John was an avid golfer and every year attended the Kielbasa Tournament. In July of 2012 he was diagnosed with cancer and in September, after finishing his cancer treatments, played and won the tournament in Canton at the age of 72. John also enjoyed playing Black Jack at Mountaineer.

John enjoyed family night, playing Left, Right, Center, but his favorite day of the year was the Hull Family Reunion.

John leaves his son, David Hull of North Lima; daughter, Kelly (Tony) Rozzi of Boardman; sister, Louise (Jerry) Bettross of Ellsworth; brother, Donny (Bernie) Ritenour of Campbell; grandchildren, Nicole Martin, Brandon Rozzi, Jenni Hull and Devin Hull; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two cats who he loved, Bullet and Smokey.

Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Irwin, and his brother, Jimmy Ritenour.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, 4:00 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market Street, with Chaplain Dan Tayman officiating.

Friends will be received Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
