Poland - John R. Hudak, 71 of Poland, died November 9, 2015 in the comfort of his home. He was born June 24, 1944 in Youngstown, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Slanina Hudak.
He was a 1963 graduate of Ursuline High School and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. John was employed with Ohio Edison, retiring in 1981 due to a stroke. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed fishing and loved his dog, Ruby.
He leaves his devoted daughter and caregiver, Amanda Hudak of Poland; three sisters, Anne Hudak of Canfield, Loretta (Bill) Neil of Boardman and Rebecca Hudak of Boardman; two brothers, Joseph Hudak of Youngstown and William (Rosemary) Hudak of Austintown; his sister-in-law, Gloria Mundy of Boardman and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Hudak on July 6, 2011.
A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated on Saturday at 10am at St. Dominic Catholic Parish, 77 East Lucius Ave Youngstown, OH 44507, with the Rev. Fr. Bernard Timothy as Celebrant.
The Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland is handling arrangements.
