John Edward Holzbach, 66 Lake Tomahawk- John Edward Holzbach, 66, died early Wednesday evening at his residence. He was born on August 29, 1938 in Warren, Ohio, a son of Muriel Grace Daugherty and Carl Martin Holzbach and lived most of his life in Boardman,Ohio. His identical twin, James Martin lived only a few days. He graduated from Kent State University and earned a Masterâa�a��s Degree in Biological Science. He was a naturalist at Mill Creek Park and taught Biology at Mathews High School in Vienna. Mr. Holzbach was coordinator of outdoor education for the Howland Local District from 1968-1974. He was Superintendent of Boardman Township Park District from 1975-1992, when he retired. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Boardman, a member and past-President of Boardman Civic Association. He was a member of Toronto, Ontario Entomologistâa�a��s Association, Ottawa Ontario Field Naturalist Club, Federation of Ontario Naturalists, Ontario Field Ornithologists and various other naturalist groups. He married Norma June Talkington on August 28, 1990 He was a naturalist with a special with a special interest in birds and insects; and was an avid collector of natural history books. He spent his childhood summers at his grandparentâa�a��s cottage in Ontario. In 1963 he bought a 134 acre property in Ontario, their beloved Stonycroft, where he married his wife, Norma June Talkington on August 28, 1990. He spent as much time as possible each summer and after his retirement, he spent half of each year there with his wife. Besides his wife, he leaves mother-in-law, Florence M. Talkington; and a cousin, William T. Daugherty in Florida; and numerous Daughertyâa�a��s and Holzbachâa�a��s in the area. There will be no funeral services or calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley or the Kiwanis Club of Boardman.
