John "Jack" Guckiean

Columbiana - John Guckiean, 85, of Columbiana, formerly of Poland, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007. Mr. Guckiean, affectionately known as Jack, was born August 31, 1921 in Addyston, OH, the son of Harry and Margaret Vaughn Guckiean. He came to this area from Cincinnati in1950. He worked as the Head Custodian at the Poland Presbyterian Church for 30 years and Idora Park for 20 years. Jack was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II in Italy. His wife, the former, Anna Marjorie Stephens, whom he married on August 23, 1952, died July 18, 2000. He leaves one daughter, Barbara (James) Francis of North Lima; one son, John (Nancy) Quinby of East Lake, OH; four grandchildren, Mike, Todd, Deni and Tina; and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, 11:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, with Dr. David Gilbert and Rev. Gerald Fennell officiating.
