John J. Gordon

John J. Gordon,72 Boardman- John J. Gordon, 72, formerly of Struthers died Friday morning at Shepherd of the Valley. Mr. Gordon was born in Struthers May 12, 1931, a son of Neil and Gladys Pearl Gordon. He was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1950 graduate of Struthers High School. He was supervisor of the electric shop at Youngstown Sheet and Tube (LTV) for 35 years, retiring in 1985. Mr. Gordon was a member of the Poland Lodge F&AM 766 and was a former member of the Odd Fellows. He was a member of the Struthers United Methodist Church. He was a Korean War veteran, U. S. Army serving in the 45th Division, 180th Regiment, Easy Company. His wife the former Bonnie Emch, whom he married August 6, 1952, died August 29, 2003. He leaves one daughter, Patricia (Pete) Hohlbein of Worthington,OH; one son, John (Ginny) Gordon of Poland Township; and five grandchildren . Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Neil âa�A"Peteâa�A� Gordon. Funeral services will be private on Monday at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
