John G. DePietro

September 27, 1939 — February 13, 2015

Poland - John G. DePietro, 75, died Friday evening, February 13, 2015 at the Hospice House, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Mr. DePietro was born September 27, 1939 in Youngstown, a son of Armand and Bertha Veon DiPietro.

He was a 1957 graduate of East High School and attended Youngstown State University. Mr. DePietro was a member of the Bricklayers Local 8 for over 50 years.

John enjoyed teaching his children to play sports, doing crossword puzzles, visiting aerospace and airplane museums, and vacationing in the Outter Banks. He also enjoyed learning about astronomy and military history.

He is survived by his wife, the former Louise Mayerchak, whom he married September 5, 1986; six children, John (Mindy) DePietro Jr. of Boardman, James (Jennifer) DePietro of Lancaster, Ohio, Jennifer (Roger) Quehl of Bangor, Maine, Stephen (Tiffany) Maro of Sterling, Virginia, Jenny Maro of Columbus, and Nina (fiance Cory Beight) DePietro of Boardman; brother, Armand "Duke" (Anne) DiPietro of Poland; three sisters, Shirley DePietro of Youngstown, Judy Smith of Columbus, and Carol Lennox of Struthers; and ten grandchildren, Trey and Brady DePietro, Meghan, Chris, and Ryan DePietro, Patrick Powers, Roger Quehl, and Eli, Wyatt, and Mical Maro; and many special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Carmen "Bill" DePietro.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 4-5:45 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, where a funeral service will be held at 6 p.m.
