John L. Coman

July 21, 1932 — August 30, 2016

Poland - John L. Coman, 84, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Hospice of the Valley's, Hospice House. He was born July 21, 1932 in Youngstown, son of the late, Daniel Sr. and Rose Hash Coman.

John was employed as a sheet metal worker with A.A. Samuels and was a member of Sheet Metal Worker Union #33. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. John enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at LaVilla.

He leaves his children, John L. (Michile) Coman Jr. of Homerville, Cindy Coman-Liddle of Poland, Terri (Ron) Wentworth of Cochranton, PA, James (Melanie) Domer of Cape Coral, FL, Mark Domer of Poland, Adele Coman of Cleveland, Roxanne Colello of Youngstown and Enie Coman of Youngstown; nine grandchildren, Julia Liddle, Ryan Wentworth, Ashley Rexrode, Joshua Coman, Matthew Coman, Brandi Noll, Baylee Domer, Vickie Just and Valerie Voitus; six great grandchildren; his brothers, Richard and Eldon Ronald Coman; four sisters, Joan Naples, Nancy Koutsourais, Anita Holby and Helene Kish; two nieces, Kim (Scott) Beight and Leeann (Eric) Billock and many great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary G. Coman on February 28, 2004; his daughter, Debra Coman-Voitus, his brothers, Daniel Coman, Jr. and David L. Coman, his sisters, Ellen Louise Rogers, Rosemary Gerlach, Dorothy Greenwalt and Judith Laburina.

Prayer services will be Saturday at 9:15am at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St. Poland followed by a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1410 Oak Hill Dr. Youngstown, with the Rev. Fr. Edward P. Noga as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Poland Riverside Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Friday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care given to John.
