John J. Chuey,76 Lowellville-John J. Chuey, 76, died Saturday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. Mr. Chuey was born in Struthers May 10,1929, a son of Joseph S. and Mary Chuey. He was a 1947 graduate of Struthers High School and later graduated from Republic Industrial Education Institute in Electrical Engineering in 1972. He worked for 33 years at Youngstown Foundry and Wean United Company in Machine Maintenance. He was a forty year veteran of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Mr. Chuey was a member of the American Legion post #247 of Lowellville and the Holy Rosary Church. He was treasurer for the Lowellville Rod and Gun Club for 50 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran in the 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment. John was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, golfing fishing, bowling, and gardening. He leaves his wife, the former Dorothy Merz, whom he married October 14, 1950, a daughter, Susan (Tom) Farah of Woodstock, GA; a granddaughter, Stacey (David) Gebhardt of Ann Arbor, MI; two sisters, Betty (Tom) Radca of Garfield Heights and Mary Ann Adams of Mentor; and two step-brothers, Bill and George Huncik of Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be Wednesday 10:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville and 10:30AM at Holy Rosary Church. Friends may call Tuesday 5-8PM at the funeral home.
