Youngstown - John Cardarelli, 78, of Youngstown, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 6, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Born on September 17, 1946 in Warren, Ohio, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Nolfi) Cardarelli.
John graduated from Mineral Ridge High School and dedicated many years of his life to working as a steel worker at Trinity Industries, where he would eventually retire. On May 13, 1984, he married the love of his life, the former Tamara Zelina. Together, they raised their children and cherished the joys brought by their two grandchildren who lovingly called him “Pa.”
An active member of Nativity of Christ Orthodox Church, John managed the offerings and helped to maintain the beauty of the church. He enjoyed spending his leisure time on the golf course, bowling, playing tennis, and spending time with his family who often looked forward to his "famous lasagna".
John is survived by his loving wife, Tamara, and his four children, Jennifer (Bob) Burns, Alexandra (Mike) Bowen, Victor (Angie) Cardarelli, and Anastasia Cardarelli. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Gabriel Bowen and Magdalena Cardarelli; as well as his brothers, Ron (Pat) Cardarelli and Paul (Sandy) Cardarelli.
John's legacy will live on through his family and friends, who will remember him for his kindness, patience, and dedication to family, the church, and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of many.
