John Wesley Brown âa�" 92 STRUTHERS âa�" John Wesley Brown, 92, of 67 Grimm Heights, died Saturday morning, July 28th at his residence with his family at his side. Mr. Brown was born in Parnassus, PA on September 3, 1914, a son of David E. and Anna May Harvey Brown. He moved to the Youngstown area in 1937. He was a 1932 graduate of Punxsutawney High School and a WWII Navy Veteran from July 1943 until December 1945. He was employed by Youngstown Sheet and Tube as Superintendent Clerk in the Masonry Department from 1937 until retirement in 1978. John was a member of Faith Community Church, A.A.R.P. chapter 3105, and the Brownlee Woods Senior Citizens. He was also a former volunteer Fireman for the Elk Run Volunteer Fire Company. Besides his wife, the former Anna Pauline Lackey, whom he married April 2, 1939, he leaves one daughter, Paulette (Bob) Kirby, with whom he made his home; one sister, Bettie Dolan, of West Covina, Ca.; three brothers, Donald of Indian Trail, North Carolina, James Brown of Belleview, Florida, Edward Brown of Emmaus, Pa.; three grandchildren, Holly Kirby of Boardman, Ohio, George (Deann) Kirby of Cortland, Ohio, and John Kirby of Pinellas Park, Florida; and great-grandsons, George and Jake Kirby. He is survived by several nieces and nephews including several great nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his faithful watchdog B.J. Besides his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by brothers David, Richard, and Charles (Earl). The family would like to thank Tracy, Dr. Morrison III, Dr. Artiers, and the staff of MVI Hospice and STNAâa�a��s for all the care and support the past three years. Family and friends may call Thursday, August 2nd from 4-7 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call Friday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
