John G. "Jack" Bieterman

September 19, 1915 — March 29, 2012

Jack Bieterman, 96

Youngstown-John George Bieterman, Jack to his friends, was born on September 19, 1915 in Warren PA and finished his journey 96 years later on March 29, 2012. His parents were John Felix Bieterman and Clara (Slike) Bieterman and brothers were Robert and Thomas. He moved,with his family, to the Struthers area in 1925 and made his home there ever since. He was a 1933 graduate of Struthers High School.
Jack served in the Navy during WW II seeing action on an LST in the South Pacific. After the war he returned to his employment at the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company retiring in 1978 after 44 years. He was a life time member of St Nicholas Church in Struthers. He was a low handicap golfer and a good bridge player. He and his wife Marge, loved to play duplicate bridge and they also enjoyed traveling, especially their Caribbean cruises and their trips to Hawaii, California and Florida.
Missing him will be his wonderful wife of 72 years Marjorie Duffey Bieterman and all of his descendants. He leaves 4 children,Barbara (John) Cunningham of Kirkland, WA, Patricia (Harvey) Lowery of Girard, OH, Richard (Dianne) Bieterman of Stow, OH, and Charles (Janet) Bieterman of Rochester Hills, MI. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, Renee, Rebecca, Keith, Kristine, Steven, Caren and Jack; 7 great-grand children; and 2 great-great grandchildren. We know that he has gone to a better place and can just see him sitting around the 19th hole with all of his buddies swapping stories and laughing as he loved to do. A truly wonderful man.
A prayer service will be Monday 10:30AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Nicholas Church. Interment will follow at Lakepark Cemetery.
Friends will be received Monday from 10:00AM-10:30AM at the funeral home.
