John A. Antal, 73 Struthers- John A. Antal, 73, of 505 8th Street, died early Saturday morning at his residence. Mr. Antal was born November 1, 1932 in Campbell, a son of Stephen and Mary Labuda Antal. He was raised in Campbell and moved to Struthers 49 years ago. He was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and was a Yard Clerk for Republic Steel and then LTV, retiring in 1985. Mr. Antal was a United States Army Veteran serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict from April 1953 until April 1955. He then served in the Army Reserves until 1961. He was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Antal enjoyed wood working, gardening, fishing and visiting with his neighbors, but his most favorite in the world was spending time with his grandson. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Jean Heavrin, whom he married July 7, 1956 at St. Nicholas Church; two daughters, Kathleen and son-in-law Faron Williams of North Lima and Karen Antal at home; one son, John A. Antal Jr., of Aberdeen, Maryland; one sister, Ann Antal of Boardman; one brother, Joseph Antal of Youngstown; his grandson, Grant Williams and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Antal was preceded in death by his sister Helen Cook. Funeral services will be Thursday 9:30 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home and 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
