She was an active member of Nativity of Christ Russian Orthodox, where she served as the past president, treasurer, and secretary of its Sisterhood.
Her husband, George Bolina, Jr., preceded her in death on February 24, 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Frank "Lou") Hornyak of Canfield; her six grandchildren, Kelly J. Valiquette of Poland, Jody (Bonnie) Bolina of Dallas, George Bolina of New Springfield, Lisa (Steve) Krall of Youngstown; and 8 great-grandchildren, Kristi Valiquette and Ryan (Rebecca) Valiquette.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joanne was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy L. Smith; her son, George "Marty" Bolina; and three sisters, Eillien Carney, Mary Jean Hough, and Dorothy Geltch.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Nativity of Christ Russian Orthodox, 727 Miller Ave., Youngstown. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland, and Wednesday from 2-2:45 p.m. at the church. A Panachida service will be conducted on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
