JoAnn A. Johnson, 90, of Poland
Memorial services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman with Pastor Richard Kidd officiating for JoAnn Johnson who died Tuesday afternoon August 14, 2018 at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman.
She was born May 21, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of Bruce and Lillian (Legat) McIntosh .
JoAnn worked for Boardman Local Schools for over forty years, beginning her career as the Librarian at Stadium Drive Elementary School, and had also worked for General Fireproofing.
She was a dedicated member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman serving on numerous committees, with her biggest passion being a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church Choir.
Her husband of 62 years, Norman A. Johnson, whom she married May 3, 1952 died July 16, 2014.
She leaves two sons, Jon E. (Darla) Johnson Austintown and Scott N. (Jodie) Johnson of Boardman; her daughter, Ingrid L. (Tim) Cassidy of Boardman; four granddaughters, Melanie (John) Diaz, Ashley (Joel) Albrecht, Karly Johnson, and Erica Johnson; six great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lillian Gillam and a brother, Bruce H. McIntosh.
Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests material contributions take the form of donations to the Bethel Lutheran Church music department, or to the Shepherd Foundation at Shepherd of the Valley.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Shepherd of the Valley, and Hospice of the Valley for the exceptional care and compassion they provided JoAnn.
Arrangements are being handled by the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman.
