JoAnn Antal

Youngstown - JoAnn Antal, 76, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with stomach cancer on January 16, 2024 at her home. 

She was born August 18, 1947 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Herman) Billec. She graduated from Campbell Memorial High School. She spent most of her working career serving others, first for Antone's and then Chad Anthony's until her retirement. 

In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, and was part of several leagues and was a member of the Lady Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles. She had a penchant for trying her luck at the various casinos both in the area and beyond, especially the slot-machines.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Michele (William) Kerr of Boardman and Pete (Melissa) Febinger of Parrish, FL; her grandchildren, Jacquelyn Kerr, Kaitlyn (Tobin) Goss, Ryan and Carson Febinger; great-grandchild, Blakely; and her sister, Irene Rutana of Boardman; along with many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Antal; and her siblings, John, Joseph, Edward, and Robert Billec, Anna Kacela, Elizabeth Billec, and Mary Lakatos.
