Hubbard - Joan Elaine Sattler, 66, of Hubbard, died Wednesday evening at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House after a one year battle with cancer.
Joan was born January 13, 1944 in Youngstown, a daughter of William and Viola Pero Sattler.
She was raised in Brownlee Woods and was a 1962 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School. She received her license in Practical Nursing from Choffin Career School of Nursing. She worked as a LPN for Tod Children's Hospital for over 25 years and retired from the laundry department of Forum Health, Northside Medical Center.
A stroke survivor, Joan was very active with on-line stroke support groups and made many friends from around the country. Nothing brought Joan more joy in life then her beloved dogs, Rocky, Daisy, Rascal and Lucky. Joan enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her nieces and nephews grow up.
Besides her father of North Lima, Joan leaves her sister, Lauren (James) Pasquine of Poland; two brothers, Raymond (Lois) Sattler of Hubbard and William (Julie) Sattler of Calcutta, OH; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend Cindi Twickler of New Orleans.
Joan was preceded in death by her mother, Viola Sattler.
There are no services or calling hours. Interment will be at the Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
