Poland - Joan P. (Pachell) Edwards was called by our Lord on Thursday, December 20, 2018. The family so lovingly writes this as we remember her unending strength through her prolonged illness.

Joan enjoyed traveling with her husband. She was a native of New York and also enjoyed "her" Yankees and the banter between her son Sam who is a Red Sox fan.

She was a clerk at Point Fruit Market, on the corner of Midlothian Blvd. and South Ave. for over 25 years and later was a clerk for Rite Aid Drug Store in Youngstown for 15 years, before retiring.

We find comfort in the love she showed her family and will be sadly missed by her husband of 17 years, Richard A. Edwards whom she married on September 29, 2001; her son, Sam (Deborah) Pachell of Niles; her only grandson, Sam Nick (Kate) Pachell of Niles; two "Munch-kins" great grandchildren, Brandon and Hannah; a step-son, James (Bonnie) Edwards of Mill Hall, Pa; a step-daughter, Yvonne (Russ) Williams of Tulsa, OK; 7 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Joann L. Pachell; three sisters, Mary, Dorothy and her twin sister, Regina.

There will be a Memorial Mass held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at noon at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 4659 State Route 46 in Cortland with Fr. Carl Kish officiating.

The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Angels for Animals 4750 State Route 165, Canfield, OH, 44406 in memory of Joan.

Her famous words were, "Don't forget to wear your hat...!".
