Poland - Joan Logan, 90 of Poland, died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Logan was born February 5, 1920 in Austria-Hungary, a daughter of Rudolph and Maria Katich Bryan.
She moved to the United States when she was 10 years old. Mrs. Logan was a homemaker and was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church. She and her husband, along with several other families were co-founders of the Poland Swim Club. She was a member of the Ruth Shrine #64 of Poland, and the Homebuilders Club. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, where she was a water safety instructor, a member of the Saxon Club, where she sang in its choir and was an officer and served on the board of the Youngstown Play House. She enjoyed cooking, swimming, spending time with her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband Martin Logan, whom she married June 6, 1939, died August 18, 1992.
She is survived by three sons, Martin F. Logan of Warren, Bruce (Carol) Logan of Youngstown, and Bryan (Jan-Marie) Logan of Boardman; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rudolph Bryan, and her sister Olga Kursel.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 11:00 - 1:00 PM at the Poland United Methodist Church, where a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM.
Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland.
