Joan E. Balluck, 74 Norwalk- Joan Balluck, 74, of Norwalk Memorial Home, formerly of Struthers, died Thursday afternoon at the nursing home. Mrs. Balluck was born June 17, 1929 in Youngstown, a daughter of Samuel and Frieda Brobander Richards. She received her Bachelor and Masters degree in Education from Youngstown University and taught elementary for over 30 years. She began her teaching career in the Cleveland schools and then taught in the country of Venezuela. Returning to Struthers, she taught both, first and second grade at the Fifth Street and Sexton Street Schools before retiring. Mrs. Balluck was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Struthers. Her husband Leonard whom she married February 3, 1962 died November 13, 1991. She leaves two children, Allison Lynn (Chris) Reagan of Norwalk, Ohio and Kyle Richard (Leah) Balluck of Burke, Virginia and four grandchildren, Dustin, Katelyn, Andrew and Ryan. Besides her husband, Mrs. Balluck is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
