Struthers - Joan R. Allen, 77, died Friday evening, April 6, 2012 at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center in Columbiana.
Joan was born December 4, 1934 in Struthers, a daughter of John and Alice (Hartshorn) Allen.
A life long resident of Struthers, Joan attended Struthers High School. She worked for General Metals in Struthers, working both in the factory and as a bookkeeper, retiring at the age of 62.
Joan is survived by her sister, Betty (Jay) Lawrence of Struthers; brother, John (Mary Lou) Allen of Poland; two sisters-in-law, Judy Allen of New Waterford and Fujiko Allen of Struthers; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Jim Allen; and her sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Carl Matteo.
There will be no calling hours or services. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery.
