Struthers - Jerome H. Geier, 73, died Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
He was born on October 18, 1942 in New Brighton, PA, to the late Karl Alphonse and Mary Gulas Geier.
Jerry was a 1960 graduate of South High School and went on to the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, graduating in 1966. He retired from CVS in 2010, where he was employed as a pharmacist.
Jerry was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Mears Council #3930, where he was a former Grand Knight, and was past president and past board member of South Side Duplicate Bridge.
Jerry enjoyed gardening, needlepoint and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and had a passion for the arts and music. Jerry was a world traveler and went on many mission trips volunteering to help the needy and underprivileged through YSU fundraising.
He leaves his son, David Geier of Struthers; a daughter, Cathy (Eric) Altman of Jeanette, PA; grandson, Josh Altman; sister, Rita (Fred) Pirkey of Struthers; and his cousin, Florence Perlink.
A prayer service will be held on Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mt. Carmel, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. as celebrant.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
