Lowellville - Jerold A. Donatelli, 58, died Monday evening, March 3, 2014 at his home after a battle with cancer.
Jerold was born October 5, 1955 in Youngstown, a son of the late Jerome and Lucille Mangine Donatelli.
He was a 1973 graduate of Lowellville High School and played football for the Rockets. In 1972, he was named to the All Ohio Team. Jerold continued his education at Adrian College in Michigan for three years on a football scholarship.
Jerold first worked for the Falcon Foundry in Lowellville until moving to Texas in the late 70's. While in Texas, he worked for US Steel as a crane operator. He returned to this area in the late 80's and began working again for Falcon Foundry. After retiring from Falcon Foundry, he continued working for himself doing carpentry and home improvement work throughout the area.
Jerold was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football and baseball. He also loved to cook and spending time with his granddaughter, Alyahna.
He is survived by three sons, Anthony Donatelli of Canton, Jerrod Donatelli of Struthers, and Richard Donatelli of Flint, Michigan; two brothers, Jerome (Roberta) Donatelli and Joseph (Charlene) Donatelli, both of Lowellville; and granddaughter, Alyahna Donatelli.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, where family and friends will be received Friday from 4-5:45 prior to the service.
