Jeannette R. Maurice, 77
POLAND Jeannette R. Maurice, 77, passed away early Tuesday morning at Hospice of the Valley.
A life-long resident of Poland, Jeannette was a daughter of Roy E. and Daisybel Kibler.
Jeannette married Edwin ³Moe² Maurice Sept. 5, 1953.
After graduating from Poland Seminary High School in 1952, she attended St.
Luke¹s School of Nursing. She graduated from Hannah Mullins School of Nursing in 1977. She had worked as a mail courier for Sharon Steel and served the community as a practical nurse.
A caring and compassionate person, she showed those around her the meaning of living a Christian life by her unselfish ways. Jeannette was a member of the Poland Presbyterian Church, joining in 1948. She enjoyed her membership of Eastern Star and Mau-Mil. Her pastimes included spending summers water skiing on the Allegheny River and wintering in Florida.
Jeannette leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Carolyn (Tom) Ritter of Little Torch Key, Fla.; her children, Robert (Cindy) of New Middletown, Susan Romito of Poland, with whom she made her home, and David (Debbie) of Beaver Falls, Pa.; grandchildren Bryan and Leslie Romito and Dan Palmer.
In addition to her parents, Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, who died June 16, 2011; brothers R William and Phillip S. Kibler; and grandson, Jamie Gahagan.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Poland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gerald L. Fennell officiating.
Interment to follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker
Funeral Home, Poland and Saturday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary gifts be made to Hospice of the Valley, whose staff was so supportive and caring during the last days of her life.
