Jeanette L. Shorthouse
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church for Jeanette L. Shorthouse. She passed away at her home Thursday evening.
Mrs. Shorthouse was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Youngstown, a daughter of Albert and Jeanette Rankin Landorf.
She was a graduate of Scienceville High School and was a graduate of Youngstown College School of Business. She was an executive secretary for 37 years at Sheet & Tube Steel Company. She was a member of the church, its Naomi Circle and the choir. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Her husband, Arthur B. Shorthouse Sr., whom she married June 18, 1977, died July 30, 1990. Her first husband, William King, whom she married May 7, 1960, preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1967.
Surviving her are three daughters, Diana Jakalavich of Boardman, Elise Veri of San Diego and Linda Hoogland of Chino Hills, Calif.; two sons, Arthur Shorthouse Jr. and Mark Shorthouse, both of Myrtle Beach, Calif.; nephew, Gary Jones of Tega Cay, S.C.; nieces, Malliegh Jones of Alabama and Amy Jones of Dallas; sister, Claire Anderson of New York; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents was a sister, Ruth Jones; and daughter, Sandra Iseri.
Friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
